NEWSLETTER 30 September 2015

THANK YOU for your understanding while we transition with our journey’s new direction. Packing up & clearing the old shop/retail space has been achieved with help from lots of our fabulous family & friends.  Saying thank you only just covers how grateful we are for the efforts required to achieve this seamlessly.

The Market Day at Jubilee Community Centre on Saturday helped lighten the load of fabric still left.  Such a beautiful spring day to set up on the verandah of Building 2 with our “mobile shop”.  We hope to have more of these days at the centre with other options available to clear the last little bit stored at Kate’s place.

Going forward we will have basic sewing stock available which includes cotton wadding, interfacing, weave line, threads, Sue Daley products & Cottage Garden Threads.  These will be available on sewing days but you can ring Kate on 8396 0316 to make an appointment to collect what you may need.  We will have a list of available stock & prices very soon J

Membership to A Quilters Odyssey POETS Day/s covers our hiring costs plus public liability cover only.  Sewing Days are weekly on Wed or Sat but if you can only come fortnightly or monthly that’s OK.  Same fee applies however.  We will have tea coffee milk sugar & biscuits available for a gold coin donation each week.

The idea aim & object of the group’s sewing days is to foster the love of patchwork quilting & embroidery among all participants.  We hope you will be happy to share your knowledge & help each other with any issues arising from new challenges you choose.  Kate & Sue will be on hand also for input where necessary.

Each month we intend to introduce new techniques which you are invited to join in on (or not – your choice).  Some months a small kit will be required (cost not included in your membership, but additional).  At other times something from your stash may be required.

WORKSHOPS RETREATS & EVENINGS with invited Guest Speakers are also being planned & again will have an additional cost if you choose to join in the fun.  If you have any ideas, please let Kate or Sue know & we will do our best to meet the challenge.

Membership is calculated across the use of both days at Jubilee CC which will allow you to come on either day of the week – yay!  The only catch to that plan – Wednesday is in a smaller room & may not always have the space.  Just give us a call to confirm there is a spot on Wednesday.  Saturday is not an issue given its size but it would still help us if you could let us know your plans in advance please.

APOLOGIES if you are unable to come for any reason will be appreciated as this will help complete the picture each week with space availability.  Happy to receive a text message or phone call (preferably not Facebook as we are not on there every day)
